Learning To Drift In Arcade Racers Without The Frustration
Arcade racers live or die on drifting, and on a phone it can feel impossible at first. The car slides everywhere, you overcorrect, and the corner eats you. I've been there. The good news is that it's mostly about a few small habits, not reflexes.
Start by turning steering sensitivity down. Most games ship it too high, which makes every tap feel like a swerve. Lower it and suddenly you're guiding the car instead of fighting it. This one setting fixed drifting for me across half a dozen games.
Next, brake before the corner, not during it. Set your entry speed, tap into the drift, then feather the throttle to hold the line. Trying to do everything mid-corner is what sends you into the wall. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
Finally, learn one track really well before jumping around. Muscle memory does a lot of the work in these games. Once one circuit clicks, the skills transfer, and drifting stops being a struggle and starts being the whole reason you play.
